If you’ve seen a picture of the New York City skyline, you’ve certainly seen a picture of the Empire State building. It’s so synonymous with New York that it’s basically the city’s version of the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, or Taj Mahal. Luckily for visitors, the Empire State Building is extremely accessible and a must-do New York attraction.
Standing at 1,454 feet (including its famous antenna), the Empire State Building was the tallest in New York upon its completion in 1931. While it no longer holds the title, it has by no means lost any of its appeals. And to be fair, it’s still the 43rd tallest building in the world, so it’s nothing to scoff at!
Located on New York’s exclusive Fifth Avenue, the Empire State Building has appeared in more than 250 movies and television shows. It’s no wonder that it has become one of the city’s most well-known celebrities.
There are plenty of reasons to pay this New York icon a visit. From the stunning lobby and exhibitions to the educational audio tour, there’s no shortage of entertainment. Of course, the main attraction is the observation decks, which offer breathtaking views from the top.
